Interns provide an affordable therapy option as part of their required clinical internship experience. These student therapists see clients under the supervision of a fully licensed therapist supervisor, and receive weekly supervision and additional consultation as needed, as they work to complete their educational requirements. Interns are carefully selected, and potential clients are screened prior to placement to ensure fit.
Student therapy is a great option for individuals and couples who don't have insurance or mental health coverage, have a high out-of-pocket deductible, or whose coverage does not include couples therapy.
While not yet fully licensed in the state of Washington, interns bring many strengths to their work: a fresh perspective, life experience, and their recent therapeutic education. In addition, interns are closely supervised, unlike licensed therapists, who are not required to consult with other professionals regarding their work.
